Turning Trash Into Art

Think outside the box to make art out of everyday materials at this exciting free workshop! Explore the world of upcycling with local professional artist Cornelia Davis. Guided by Cornelia, everyone will create a coaster out of magazine paper or a beautiful flower/snowflake out of paper towel tubes. Just in time for Earth Day, we'll explore how we can use materials we already have to create art. Get your creativity flowing at this interactive workshop! Projects will be customized for different age groups. All supplies are provided. This is a child-without-parent program. Advance registration is required to reserve your spot; please register every child who will be attending.

Cornelia Davis, a native of Romania, sees mediums of art in the everyday objects around her. Cornelia grew up in a time where material wealth was minimal and everyone had to create from leftovers, so repurposing materials into creative artistic projects is a lifetime calling for her work as an artist.

This program is offered in partnership with the Town of Windsor Museums, Cornelia Davis, and Sustainable Windsor, a community organization focused on cultivating a thriving, sustainable town. Sustainable Windsor encourages education, advocacy, and support of sustainable development and the environment.
